Warm-Weather Dressing Solutions: The Frigid Office

I don't know of a woman who works in an office environment who does not complain about the arctic temperatures in her office during the summer months. Most have a frumpy cardigan draped over the back of their desk chair for just this reason. Others have woolly socks hidden in an office drawer. It doesn't help that one has to strip down to near nakedness once leaving the office in order to deal with the summer heat.

Here are items needed to survive the summer office climate with style and professionalism intact:
1. Lightweight Top (think sleeveless shell rather than tank top or camisole - you will want to look appropriate entering and leaving the office).
2. Cardigan or Jacket (light colors, open weaves, summer fabrics).
3. Scarves (light colors, open weaves, summer fabrics).
4. Closed-toe shoes (save your sandals for getting to and from the office - blue toes never equals summer chic).

Warm-Weather Dressing Solutions: The Farmers Market

Dressing for the farmers market has always been a dilemma for me. I know it will be scorching and I will be exposed to a lot of direct sunlight. It occurs on Saturday morning when I know I may be not so fresh from Friday night. And I also know I will see lots of friends, family, and occasionally the hot male getting his organic groove on. So what does one wear to the farmers market?

The Peep-toe Bootie Sling-back Mule

Once again, my friend at Spiked Lunch has reviewed one of the hottest shoe trends for the season: the peep-toe bootie, sling-back mule. Quite a mouthful for a lovely shoe that is part bootie, part sandal. Perfect for those of us suffering the capricious weather of Spring 2014. Here's how I'd wear my peep-toe bootie, sling-back mules.
