Fall Story: Game of Thrones

While fashion designers throw out terms like "wild beauty," "the Silk Road," and "freedom and globalism," as the basis of their inspiration, they can't fool us. They're watching the same shows we are and can't wait to see what Daenerys, Sansa, and Ygritte will wear next. I'm sorry, but you can't tell me that some of these clothes weren't designed to be worn "over The Wall." Am fairly certain, image 5 is of a White Walker.

Fall Story: Fairytales

To understand a seasonal trend, it is more important to find the story behind that clothes rather than pick out individual pieces that will update your look. The magazines may say it is imperative you have a cape for Fall 2014, but unless you get where the cape fits into the narrative, you don't get the fashion.

This season one of the major trend stories is that of a good, old-fashioned fairy tale. You know the dark ones from Grimm. Once you see that the themes are innocence, darkness and light, and perils that lurk in the natural world, then you can understand the dark florals, peter pan necklines, maryjanes, and embroidered dresses. Here are some images from Fall 2014.
